Busy is good - I think

The great news is that business is booming! :-) The not so great news - I don’t have a clone. What’s a business woman to do? Hire help! Aside from the housekeeper that I assured my husband I needed ;-), I’m looking into hiring a virtual assistant. This should help me with the bookkeeping end of my business. However, what I really need is a subcontractor, or two, to assist me with some of the design aspects of my current work load - well, more specifically, the coding end of it all.

Web design takes time. While it’s possible to slap up a simple page without regard to asthetics, code validation or function - I prefer to do things the “right way” and create sites that do all those things. Why not use templates you ask? Good question! While I’ve seen some beautiful templates, most of them have very bloated code. Very bloated! They are image heavy and slow loading. Those few that I’ve seen that aren’t, are expensive, but still require quite a bit of customizing to get them working the my clients need them to. So templates are fine, and some are even helpful, however, generally they don’t save time and can wind up taking more time than a custom design. All that to say - I need help!

Thankfully I have a large resource base of subcontractors I can use and also a couple good resources for finding a virtual assistant. Finding the time to actually find help - is the more difficult task at hand. But alas, it must be done.

If you’re a designer, looking for subcontract work, shoot me an email with a link to your portfolio and your pay requirements.

If you’re a virtual assistant, contact me with what services you offer and your fees.

In the meantime, I better get back to work.
